1st Formal Meeting

Thank you to those who came punctually for the meeting. Just to refresh your memory on the things that were discussed during the meeting, please take note of the following.

These handouts are to be neatly filed into your white folder. Those without the worksheets, please approach Ms Danz Tan before 7 Aug.

1st Meeting - 23rd July @ the AVA Theatre (Postponed to week 6: 30th July)

Take note that our first meeting will be postponed to one week later, there will be no change to the venue and time.

Do turn up punctually at the AVA Theatre for our 1st CIP meeting immediately after school on wednesday. Below are some of the items that you are required to bring for the meeting:
1) A flat white file
2) A photocopied piece of your passport (make sure the latest expiry date is included in the photocopy)
3) A pen
4) lastly, a positive attitude!!!!

Be punctual.

North View Secondary - Nguyen Gia Thieu High School
Cultural Immersion Programme 2008

NVSS will be starting on one of its first cultural immersion programmes with Nguyen Gia Thieu High School in Vietnam. This will be held from 2 - 11 November 2008.

Why Vietnam?
Vietnam is a place filled with history, culture and natural beauty. In recent years, Vietnam's economy has also been developing rapidly. By understanding Vietnam's culture, students will have an edge in future job prospects related to Vietnam.

About Nguyen Gia Thieu High School
Nguyen Gia Thieu High School is the top school in Tan Binh District in Ho Chi Minh City. Some of its students have been offered scholarship to study in NUS High School and Methodist Girls' School.

Target Group
The target group for this programme is Secondary Two students. Students will be selected based on their academic performance, CCA contribution and overall conduct.

Estimated Cost
80% of cost will be paid by the school (using Internationalisation Fund) the remaining 20% will be paid by the student. This will be approximately $300 - $400.

Possible Places We'll Visit
Reunification Palace, War Museum, Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnel, Imperial Palace at Hue, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Sapa.

Let's Go Vietnam!

NVSS will be starting on one of its first student exchange programmes with Nguyen Gia Thieu High School in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic centre of Vietnam.

Student exchange programmes are common in tertiary education (polytechnics and universities) and this will be good exposure for students to prepare themselves for future exchange programmes.
